About Becky

In 2016, Becky Buller made bluegrass music history by becoming the first person ever to win in both instrumental and vocal categories at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards. That’s right, folks. EVER!

Her songs, on the lips of the industry’s best, preceded this fiery-haired fiddling St. James, Minn., native to prominence in the acoustic music world. Now audiences are connecting the composer with her compositions…to the tune of five IBMA awards in the last two years, including the 2016 Fiddler and Female Vocalist and 2015 Songwriter Of The Year nods.

This overnight success story (only 20 years in the making) means that Becky needed a website that expressed her personality, showcased her music, and let the bluegrass community know that she really is the real deal.

The Challenge

Becky’s big personality, amazing talent, and easy going attitude forced us to design her website with some pretty unique features. Most bluegrass band websites are…well…simple, but after our initial strategy call with Becky we quickly recognized that she was not just another simple bluegrass musician, she was awesome and her online home had to feel the same way.

The Solution

After researching other bluegrass websites and coming up short on design ideas, we started looking into big name country, pop, and even rapper websites. This is when it hit us, Becky had a big personality, Becky wanted her site to help her make it to the big stage, why not give her a big design. And thus the staple features of Becky’s site, the big images at the top of every page and the big underlaying headlines scattered throughout every section of every page were born. In addition to these design features is the fact that every time you listen to a song on her /albums page on your desktop, you give her a hit on that YouTube video…now that’s cool.
